“Confía” (Trust) was a 2023 project featuring a series of posters displayed around the city, portraying a wolf in sheep’s clothing—a metaphor for politicians during Guatemala’s elections. The wolf, symbolizing deception, wore a pin with “HDP” (literally “hijo de puta” or son of a bitch), alluding to Alejandro Giammattei, who promised to be different but proved otherwise. The imagery included a bloodied sheep, reflecting the betrayal felt by the populace, and a presidential chain symbolizing the country’s entrapment in underdevelopment. This series of 100 pieces reminded me why I love this technique.
